The Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT) is a legislation introduced by the UK government on 1 April 2022 to address the growing issue of plastic pollution. It aims to reduce the use of single-use plastics and encourage the adoption of alternative recyclable and environmentally friendly materials.
If you manufacture or import 10 or more tonnes of plastic packaging (that does not contain at least 30% recycled plastic) within a 12-month period, you must register for PPT.
